Daichi Sasaki built the Codedas app as a commercial app. This page explains what the app does with your information. The short version: Codedas has no server of its own, and your cards stay on your device unless you turn on iCloud sync.
What you put into the app
The cards you add — their names, code values, code types, tags, favorites, and any places you save — are stored on your device, in the app's own storage. They are not sent to me, and there is no account to sign up for.
iCloud sync
If you have Codedas Pro and turn on iCloud sync, your cards are also stored in the private database of your own iCloud account, so that your devices stay in step. Apple holds that data under your Apple Account and their privacy policy. I cannot read it.
Apple Watch
If you turn on watch sync, your codes are sent from your iPhone to your paired Apple Watch, directly between the two devices.
Camera and photos
The camera is used to scan the code on a card, and you can read a code from a photo instead. Scanning happens on your device. No image is uploaded anywhere, and Codedas does not keep the picture — only the value it read, if you save the card.
Location
Location is only used if you save a place for a card. Your location is read on your device to put nearby cards at the top of the list, and, if you allow Always access and notifications, to tell you when you arrive at a place you saved. Your location is never sent to me. The places you save are part of your card data and are covered by the section above.
Purchases
Codedas Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Apple. I never see your payment details. To work out whether a device has Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier for the install along with the purchase information from Apple. It does not receive your cards or anything else you put into the app.
What Codedas does not do
Deleting your data
Deleting a card removes it from the device, and from iCloud if sync is on. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on that device. To remove what iCloud holds, turn off iCloud sync before deleting the app, or delete the Codedas data from iCloud in iOS Settings.
Children's privacy
Codedas is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
I may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page, so you are advised to review it periodically.
